About Me
My name is Lindsay Hamilton and I am a supporter of Glasgow Celtic and a member of United Glasgow FC, hence the title*.
My passion for football runs deep and from a young age I have challenged many aspects of my own life through participating in football as a player, coach, fan and activist. Now in my adult life even my working day is encompassed by football; at Sports Heritage Scotland, and through our Football Memories project, we are using football to improve the lives of those who live with dementia and other forms of memory loss. Furthermore, in January this year I was one of six individuals who set up the first LGBTQI+ Celtic Supporters Club, namely Proud Huddle C.S.C.
Football is the tie that binds me to the world, my work, my friends and my family. It’s the life blood, if you like, and sometimes I like to write about it. I hope you enjoy. Hail Hail.
*Yes this is also a nod to Rod Stewart’s ‘You’re In My Heart’ but it most definitely has no affiliation to Manchester United. Also I changed the lyrics ever so slightly because I thought he said 'the day that I decided' not "but baby I've decided..." Sorry Sir Rod!
